Marina & RV Park

What are your check-in and checkout times?

For both the RV Park and Marina, check in begins at 2 pm and check out is no later than 11 am.

What is your Deposit and Cancellation policy?

We require payment in full at the time of booking. If 30 days notice is given for cancellation, you will receive an 80% refund. The 20% admin fee can be used on a new reservation through the end of the same season. If less than 30 days notice is given, there is no refund. We can change your reservation dates based on availability within the same year with 30 days’ notice for no fee.

The full policy is available for download here.

What is the largest RV you can accommodate in your RV Park?

The bigger…the better! We can accommodate any size RV in our RV Park with ease. Our spacious sites will accommodate a 45’+ RV with multiple slide outs on both sides. And you’ll still have room to enjoy the outdoor space around you.

Do you have a laundry facility?

Yes! Our laundry room is available for all RV Park and Marina guests. It is located in the same building as the Marina washrooms/showers. It costs $4 for a wash and $4 for a dry. We have plenty of loonies available if you need change.

Do you offer tent sites or car camping in the RV Park?

Our RV Park caters specifically to self-contained recreational vehicles. We do not allow stand alone tent or car camping. Our policy does however, allow for one tent per site if accompanying a self-contained RV.

Do you provide Wifi?

While visiting us, we hope you’ll unplug from your digital world and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings! We do offer free Wifi around our office for your convenience.

How is the cell service?

We get 1-2 bars of LTE cell coverage in most areas on our property.

Are you Pet friendly?

What would a vacation be without your furry friend?! We are 100% pet friendly. Please keep your dog leashed while visiting. For your convenience, waste bag stations are located around the property.

Is there a minimum night stay?

We do not have a minimum night stay however, we find one night isn’t often enough time for people to explore the area and recommend staying at least two.

Is there a restaurant on site?

There is a restaurant and pub on the historic side of Telegraph Cove, which is a short walk from our RV Park and Marina.

Is there a grocery store close by? Liquor store?

We sell ice (blocks, cubed) at our Office just below the RV Park.

IGA in Port McNeill or Save-on-Foods in Port Hardy are the closest grocery stores. There are also BC Liquor Stores in both of those locations. We recommend stocking up on your way here.

How far is the drive from Port McNeill? Port Hardy? Campbell River? Nanaimo?

We are approximately 30 minutes from Port McNeill, 60 minutes from Port Hardy, 2.5 hours from Campbell River and 4 hours from Nanaimo.

Is there a beach nearby?

The beaches in our area are rocky, not like the sandy beaches on the west coast of the island. There is a beach at Ella Bay, a short walk across the road from the RV Park.

What is there to do around Telegraph Cove?

Things to do when visiting Telegraph Cove

Do you have accommodations?

We do not have accommodations. Our parent company built the Dockside 29 condominiums that overlook our Marina and were initially rented out by our office. However, these condos are now all individually owned. Some owners do rent their units to visiting guests, but we do not manage those rentals (even though the buildings look exactly the same!).

If you end up renting a Dockside unit and you have a boat…you’ll want to reserve a slip with us so you have it close by without having to walk around the cove to access it.

Why don’t you have firepits in each site?

We have one common area fire pit in our RV Park and we provide the firewood and kindling! During a typical season, campfires are prohibited for most of the summer due to fire danger. Having a firepit in each site would make it difficult to monitor. We also find that most people have propane fire pits now and we encourage you to bring them to use in your site! These are allowed even during a fire ban if they are CSA approved and the flame is no higher than 10 cm.

Why don’t you have many trees in your RV park?

Our RV Park is a natural outdoor amphitheatre surrounded by rock cliffs which enhance the abundant sounds of nature. It gets morning sunrises, all day sun and evening sunsets. The ocean breeze keeps bugs at bay. Trees make it more difficult to fit a large RV with multiple slide outs into an RV site, which is why we can fit 40’+ RVs into almost every site. And who wants fir needles in their slide outs!?

We have tried to grow trees in different places in the RV park, but they don’t seem to do very well with the solid rock underneath.

Why aren’t you open year-round?

Some time in early to mid October it will start raining sideways and the wind will start blowing. It has been our experience that the North Island is not a winter destination for travelers. We shut off our water to avoid freezing in both the RV Park and the Marina from mid October to the beginning of May. We prefer to be able to do maintenance in the RV Park during the winter months unhindered by obstacles, such as year round RVs

Do you have a kayak launch?

Yes! We have a very convenient, accessible and user-friendly kayak launch. You can pull right up to the launch and take your time unloading your vehicle before taking it to the parking area a short walk away. You can load your kayaks on the gravel beach before paddling away. Our kayak launch is the closest access point to the Broughton Archipelago. You can also launch your paddle board or canoe!

We suggest filing a float plan as an additional safety measure. That way we can confirm you got back as planned.

Guests staying in our RV Park get to launch their kayaks for free while staying with us (2 night minimum)!

Can I use my drone at your facility?

Please don’t…..

Are you bicycle friendly?

You are welcome to bring your bike to ride around the site. Many of the roads are paved, but there is also quite a bit of gravel.

Do you sell fishing licenses?

The easiest way to purchase a fishing license is through the DFO website before you arrive. If you forget to buy one before you leave home and need to purchase it while onsite, we recommend purchasing on the website the same way. If you are a guest at our facility you can email us the PDF of your license and we will print it for you at no extra cost!

Download the free Fishing BC App to access up-to-date regulations and keep track of your catch log!

Do you allow generators in the RV Park or Marina?

As power is available in both the RV Park and Marina and for the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, we don’t allow the use of generators in our RV Park or Marina unless there is a power outage.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

We recommend purchasing travel insurance in case you have to miss your vacation for something unexpected or out of your control. Policies usually need to be purchased between 72 hours and 21 days after you pay for trip expenses. While we don’t endorse any specific travel insurance company, they are readily available via an internet search.
